Terms of Service

Effective 22 September 2026

The short version. Munder Difflin is a desktop app that runs AI agents on your computer, with paid plans sold at harnessmd.com. The code is MIT licensed. The bundled pixel art is licensed separately from its author, LimeZu. Agents act with your permissions and on your own AI accounts, so what they do is your responsibility. The software comes as is, with no warranty. Pro is a one time payment for a fixed term, so nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. Payments are final except where the law requires a refund.

1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply to the Munder Difflin desktop app, version 0.5.2 and later, to our website munderdiffl.in, and to harnessmd.com, including app.harnessmd.com, where you create an account, buy plans, use the console and manage licences. Together we call these the services.

The services are provided and sold by Chaitanya Information Technologies. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" mean Chaitanya Information Technologies.

By downloading, installing or using the services, creating an account, or buying anything from us, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the services. If you use the services for a company or another organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it, and "you" includes it.

By creating an account, you agree that we may email you about your account, your purchases, product news and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time.

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to create an account or buy anything.

2. Licences: code and art

These are two different licences covering two different parts of the same download, and the difference is easy to miss.

The source code: MIT

All source code is released under the MIT Licence. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense and sell copies of it, subject to including the copyright notice. Nothing on this page reduces the rights the MIT Licence grants you over the code.

The bundled pixel art, licensed from LimeZu

Read this before using Munder Difflin at work

The pixel art assets bundled with the app, meaning the tilesets and maps under src/renderer/src/assets/, are Modern Interiors - RPG Tileset [16X16] by LimeZu, used under the Complete Version licence. That licence permits editing and use in commercial and non commercial projects alike, and it requires credit to LimeZu, which we give here and in the repository.

The Office cast is not LimeZu art. Every character portrait and walking sprite is drawn procedurally by the app itself, and is covered by the MIT licence like the rest of the code. See ATTRIBUTION.md for the detail.

In short: the code is yours to do almost anything with; the artwork that ships alongside it is not. If you are unsure whether your use counts as commercial, assume it does and clear the asset licence first.

3. What the software does

Munder Difflin is a harness. It does not contain an AI model and it does not think for itself. It starts and supervises command line AI agents on your computer, such as Claude Code, Codex and Copilot, each in its own terminal session, and gives them memory, messaging, scheduling and a shared workspace. It can install some of those agents for you.

Those agents run as you, with your operating system permissions, against your files and your accounts. The software also supports autonomous operation, in which agents keep working without a person watching each step.

4. Your responsibility for what agents do

Because agents act with your permissions and on your accounts, they can do anything you can do. That includes:

  • creating, changing and permanently deleting files and repositories;
  • running shell commands, installing software and changing your system;
  • making network requests and pushing to remote repositories; and
  • using paid quota on the AI subscriptions and API keys you connect, including while you are away.

Agents run on your own AI provider accounts, subscriptions and keys. What they do, the instructions you give them, and the results, including lost data and charges from those providers, are your responsibility and not ours.

Autonomy controls, spend budgets, confirmation steps and the circuit breaker exist to reduce this risk, and you should use them. They are safeguards, not guarantees. Keep backups, use version control, and do not point autonomous agents at anything you cannot afford to lose.

5. Your accounts, keys and licences

The software drives subscriptions and API keys that you own and supply. You must follow the terms of every provider you connect, such as Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, Google, Moonshot and Slack, and their terms govern that use. Keys and secrets you enter for those providers are stored on your computer, and keeping them safe is your responsibility.

You are responsible for your harnessmd.com account and for everything done with it. Keep your sign in secure, and tell us at support@harnessmd.com if you think someone else has used it.

A license key is a credential. Do not share, sell or publish it. We may revoke a key that has been shared or exposed, and replace it.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the services to break the law, to access systems you are not allowed to access, to infringe anyone's rights, or to build or run anything designed to cause harm. Do not use them in a way that breaks the terms of the AI providers they drive.

When you use our servers, do not:

  • use an account, license key, seat, price or offer that was not given to you, or get paid features from our servers without paying for them;
  • share, resell or transfer a licence or a seat, except as the services allow;
  • try to break, overload or get around the security of our servers; or
  • use our servers to send spam or harmful content.

7. Paid plans

General. The price is shown before you pay. Where the law requires tax on a purchase, it may be added. Payments are processed by Razorpay under its own terms. We may change prices, plans and features at any time. A price change applies to purchases and renewals made after it takes effect, not to a period you have already paid for. A paid plan gives you a license key and access to the paid parts of the services under these terms. It is separate from the MIT Licence over the source code and does not change it.

Pro. Pro is bought as a term of one month or one year. A month is a calendar month and a year is 365 days. It is a single payment. It does not renew, and nothing more is charged unless you buy again. If you buy more time before your term ends, the new term starts when the current one ends. When a term ends, the paid features stop, and you can keep using the free version of the app for as long as we offer it.

Licence use. A Pro licence is for one person on one computer at a time. You can move it to another of your computers from the console. A Teams seat is for the person it was given to, on a limited number of that person's computers.

Teams. Teams is not sold from this website. It is set up with us: you tell us about your team, we speak, and we agree what you get and what it costs before anything is set up or charged. Nothing about Teams is bought by clicking, there is no trial that starts by itself, and no card is taken on the site. Your seat count is set by us at your request. If we later agree a charge with you, the terms of that agreement say how it is billed and how it ends, and it does not happen without you agreeing to it first.

Offers, gifts and supporter prices. Launch offers, Founding Supporter prices, free periods and other discounts apply only as described when they are offered. They have no cash value, they can end at any time, and they cannot be combined with each other or with regional prices unless we say so. A free period that is not claimed in time may lapse.

Regional prices. We may offer lower prices in some countries. Whether a regional price applies is our decision, based on where your connection appears to be when you view prices or pay. We may change or withdraw regional prices at any time. If you hide or misstate where you are to get a regional price, for example with a VPN, we may require you to pay the standard price, or cancel your purchase and your licence.

Founding Supporter places. A Founding Supporter place gives you what the Founders' Wall described when you bought it, under the rules above for offers.

8. Refunds and cancellation

All payments are final and we do not give refunds. That covers purchases, donations, and time you have paid for and not used. It also covers a purchase, licence or account we cancel under these terms.

In most cases there is nothing to cancel. Pro is a one time payment for a fixed term, not a subscription. We do not keep your card, nothing renews, and you are never charged again unless you decide to buy again. When the term runs out the paid features stop, the free app keeps working, and you owe us nothing.

Where a plan is charged on a recurring basis, you can stop it at any time from your account. Stopping it prevents any further charge, and access runs to the end of the period already paid for. It does not refund what has already been paid.

We may still choose to refund a payment, at our sole discretion, for example when something on our side clearly went wrong. Doing that once is a one off: it does not create a right to a refund and it does not oblige us to do the same again.

None of this takes away rights you have under the law that applies where you live. Where that law requires a refund, you get one.

If you think you were charged in error, or a payment did not give you the licence you bought, write to support@harnessmd.com with the payment reference and we will look into it. That is a billing problem, not a refund request, and we fix those.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your account, your licences, your seats or your access to any part of the services, without notice and without a refund, if you break these terms, if you use a price, offer or key you were not entitled to, if a payment is reversed or disputed, or if the law requires it. Where the law requires us to give notice or a refund, we will.

You can stop using the services at any time. To close your account, write to support@harnessmd.com.

10. Changes to the services

We may change, suspend or stop any part of the services, including features, plans and prices, at any time. Descriptions of planned features are not promises to deliver them.

11. Services run by others

The services rely on and connect to services run by other companies, such as AI providers, Slack, GitHub, Clerk, Razorpay, PostHog and Loops. Those services are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

12. No warranty

To the fullest extent the law allows, the software and the services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, of fitness for a particular purpose and that they do not infringe anyone's rights. We do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, or that they will not lose or damage data. For the source code, this restates the disclaimer in the MIT Licence.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for lost data, profits, revenue, work or goodwill, damaged repositories, actions taken by agents, or charges from AI or other providers, however caused; and
  • our total liability for all claims arising from or related to the services or these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

14. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you will defend and indemnify us, and hold us harmless, against any claim, loss, damage, liability, cost or expense, including reasonable legal fees, that arises from your use of the services, from what agents you run do, from your breach of these terms, or from your breach of any law or of anyone's rights.

15. Trademarks and parody

Munder Difflin is an affectionate parody. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to NBCUniversal, The Office, or the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. All third party names, trademarks and logos referenced, including those of the AI providers the software drives, belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from the services, are governed by the laws of India. The courts in Chhattisgarh, India, have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute. This does not take away any protection that the law of the place where you live gives you and that cannot be given up by agreement.

17. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms by posting a new version on munderdiffl.in and harnessmd.com with a new effective date. If you keep using the services after that date, you accept the new version. If you do not accept it, stop using the services.

18. Feedback

Ideas, suggestions and bug reports you send us may be used by us for any purpose, without payment or credit to you.

19. General

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right, we have not given it up. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms, for example to a company that takes over the services. You may not transfer yours without our written agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the services.

20. Contact
